Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Grappling

Technical. Structural. Pressure-Tested.

The Shaolin Martial Arts BJJ & Grappling Programme delivers a complete ground-fighting system, integrating Gi and No-Gi training into one coherent method.

Drawing from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, modern No-Gi, catch wrestling and Sambo, our approach is taught through Coach Vik Hothi’s Kung Fu Body Grappling Method — a biomechanically efficient system designed for fast progress, real skill and long-term joint health.

No ego. No chaos. No injury culture.
Just intelligent grappling, taught with clarity.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Students develop a complete ground-grappling skillset, including:

  • Positional survival and escapes under pressure
  • Top lock down skills that can control larger opponents
  • Submission chains: chokes, joint locks and leg locks
  • Pressure, posture, alignment and weight distribution
  • Smooth transitions between defence, control and attack

Gi training builds precision, structure and sensitivity.
No-Gi training sharpens speed, timing, scrambling and submission flow.

Together, they form one unified ground-grappling language.

THE SHAOLIN MARTIAL ARTS GRAPPLING METHOD

The Kung Fu Body Applied to the Ground

All training is delivered through the Kung Fu Body framework, emphasising:

  • Structural alignment over strength
  • Intelligent pressure, with an adaptable mental and physical body
  • Flexibility and elastic body power

This allows beginners to progress rapidly, and experienced practitioners to train hard, safely and long-term.

COACH VIK HOTHI

Head Grappling Instructor

Coach Vik Hothi is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Leo Negao (Carlson Gracie lineage), with extensive experience in No-Gi grappling, catch wrestling and Sambo.

He was one of the first MMA Sambo Black Belts in the world, gaining early exposure to the leg-lock and submission systems that later defined modern No-Gi grappling. Combined with a first-class degree in Sports & Exercise Science, this background led to the creation of the Kung Fu Body Grappling Method.

Calm, precise, and deeply technical, Coach Vik teaches grappling as both a science and an art, with a strong emphasis on structure, efficiency, and long-term development. As an experienced competitor himself, he brings a clear understanding of pressure, timing, and real-world application into every session.

Under his guidance, students regularly achieve competition success — some reaching podium level within just three months of training. Established black belts and world champions also regularly train with Coach Vik to refine specific aspects of their game, a testament to the depth, clarity, and effectiveness of his coaching methodology.

Classes start February 2026.
